GUEST BLOG: The Sex Toy Misconception

00 Sex Toy MisconceptionWhen most people think about sex toys, they commonly associate them with women: a vibrator, a dildo, ben wa balls; these all seem intrinsically female. When you meet a new guy, it’s not often that you’ll find out he has a whole drawer full of toys at home, but a woman on the other hand, totally plausible.

However, no matter the gender association, sex toys are applicable to both sexes. In fact, when most sex toys were created (up to 35,0000 years ago), they were created with men in mind. It’s just in the past 100+ years (when they first created the vibrator to cure women of hysteria) that the gender pairing has shifted. Now some men feel insecure about the fact that their girl wants to use toys or feel like there’s nothing out there for them. But I’m here to tell you that couldn’t be farther from the truth. There are plenty of toys out there just for men and for men to use as a couple.

Check out, drop your gender biases and get on down to the store. You’ve got a whole other side of toys to explore.

Cock Ring–

With the word cock in the title, it’s pretty clear that this toy was made for men. A cock ring can be used on its own or with a partner. The ring shape of it allows the user to slide it down to the base of their shaft until it fits snugly. This will then cause blood restriction which in turns creates harder erections that can last longer. Opt for an Adam and Eve vibrating one and feel how your pleasure can increase tenfold.

Sex Swing–

This toy is made for couples, but you could swing on your own if you really wanted to. A sex swing is a piece of equipment that you can either hang from the ceiling or fasten between two A-frame like stands and allows you and your partner to swing while having sex. It’s a great toy because it allows you to stay supported while attempting all sorts of positions that aren’t possible in the bed.

This is another toy that you can use solo or with a partner. A fleshlight is modeled after a flashlight, except you insert yourself where the light would usually come from. Similar to a masturbatory sleeve, this toy is great when paired with lube and even better when someone else is doing it for you.

Bondage Toys–

Bondage toys can include whips, blindfolds, bondage tape, rope, handcuffs, spreader bars and so on and so forth. All of these toys are best paired with a partner and with someone who either wants to dominate or be submissive. If you read 50 Shades of Grey like the rest of the world, you’ll know what to do. If not and you’re interested in learning a little BDSM, start here.

Anal Toys–

An anal toy could be a set of anal beads, a prostate massager, or even an anal dildo. These toys are great for solo and partner play, as they can be used on both partners. They are especially great for the guy who has been curious about his prostate but a little unsure about how to go about massaging it. Be sure to clean each toy after each use if you’re sharing or even if you’re going at it alone.

Nipple Clamps–

Everyone has nipples; some of us even have more than two, making nipple clamps perfect for everyone. Nipple clamps are great for anyone who has extra sensitive nipples and enjoys nipple play. Pick up a gender-neutral pair like a standard metal set and get to pinching.

Earlier I may have said that vibrators were intrinsically female, but they don’t have to be. We just commonly associate the word vibrator with the Rabbit and the girl at home having a good time. But a vibrator can be used by a solo man or between a couple. Have a partner tease you by rubbing a vibrator on your shaft, nipples and backside and you’ll find that it can be just as good for you as it is for them.
