Hold on to your fannypacks, hookers, because Miss Jaye is about to get herself culture-fied!

Orpheus 2The UND Music Department is once again coaxing our pop-culture obsessed diva off the couch and away from Netflix to enjoy their spring opera production.  This year, Dr. Wesley Lawrence is directing Orpheus in the Underworld: a comic operetta that serves up the classic tale of love lost twice between Orpheus and Eurydice with a satirical spin!  Marriage, morals, and myth collide in this fantastic production showcasing some of the best vocal talent the Music Department has to offer.

Orpheus in the Underworld runs Friday and Saturday April 17 & 18 at 7 pm, and there is a Sunday matinee at 3 pm on the 20th. Tickets are practically being given away at only $6 for Adults, $3 for Students and Seniors.  Want to make a family day of it?  You can get a Family Pass for 2 adults and 2 students for only $12!  Just grab the kids or your activity buddies and head to room 202 in the Hughes Fine Arts building; doors open at 6:30 and it’s general seating.

Still not convinced?  (What the heck is wrong with you?!)  You can get more info from the UND event page HERE and contact the fabulous Dr. Anne Christopherson.  Want more info about the operetta and its composer, Jacques Offenbach?  Look no further: we’ve got it HERE!
