DIXIE SWIM CLUB Opens May 28 At Fire Hall Theatre

Miss Jaye and her gal pal Amy D have been busting their asses for the last few weeks on the next Fire Hall Theatre production, The Dixie Swim Club, and your chance to see it is almost here!  A sassy and sweet play about the unshakeable friendship of 5 women who met on their college swim team will have you laughing out loud, and maybe wiping a tear or two.

Dixie 01Janessa and Amy teamed up once before on the Greater Grand Forks Community Theatre production of Moon Over Buffalo (flashback to our guest review can be found HERE) and now they are back together again!  The show has been a challenge and a labor of love; instead of the standard 6 week rehearsal time, this production came together with only 4 weeks of rehearsal but everyone has been working their tails off to create a beautiful theatrical experience.  The show features the talents of Trish Maguire (who we last saw on stage for UND’s production of Shadow Box), longtime Fire Hall veteran Mare Thompson, local radio personality Melody MaCarthy, community theatre alum Erin Hendrickson (who appeared with Amy D in the Fire Hall production of Dearly Departed), and GGFCT newcomer Cary McMahon (whose husband Jeff completed a run at the Fire hall earlier this season in Guys On Ice).  This talented quintet will be serving up some genteel southern flair starting May 28 and running Thursday through Saturday for three weeks (no Sunday matinees).  The metaphorical curtain goes up at 7:30, and tickets are $15 ($12 for students. seniors, and military).  Further discounts for large groups are available, inquire at the Chester Fritz box office for details.

This show is perfect for a night with the girls, for any fan of Steel Magnolias, or just for an evening of quality theatre so reserve your seats now!  For more information, you can visit the Facebook event page HERE.
