2018: The Year Of Glitter

Glitter 04Perhaps I’m emboldened by the sheer sparkle factor of the Fenty Beauty Galaxy palette and the amount of glittery goodness I’m seeing in holiday 2017 collections.  Maybe it’s the drag queen in me that’s ready to turn some shit way, way up.  Or maybe it’s just me finally getting sick and goddamn tired of warm/neutral palettes constantly trying to recreate the success of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette.  Whatever it is, I’m done playing wit’cha, and I’m here to make a very bold, bright, and brassy declaration.

Glitter 022018 will henceforth be known as the year of glitter.

You nude/neutral basic bitches have had way too much influence over the makeup world for way too long.  For the last 2 or 3 years, everyone has been trying to imitate the ABH Modern Renaissance palette, and for the 3 or so years before that everyone was trying to copy the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette.

Enough is enough.

It’s time to bring back some sparkle and some shine!  It’s time to glitter to the gawds!  As Jodie from Lit Cosmetics would say: “No Glitter, No Glory!”

So in 2018, I’m going to do my best to bring you the glitteriest, glamiest products that my little drag queen heart can possibly find, and we are going to treasure every single sparkle-filled moment.  Of course I will feature old favorites like the aforementioned Lit Cosmetics (seriously, NO ONE beats them when it comes to glitter selection!) and the shimmer metallic shadows of Juvia’s Place, but I’m also going to dig deep to every corner of the interwebs (and by gawd, the “dark web” if I have to, though I can only imagine what they’d be using glitter for there!) to find as many new companies and products for us to ooh and ahh over here in the Makeup Forum!

Glitter 01Also look for glitter to make a comeback in my own personal looks, whether it’s in amazing photoshoots with photographers like Miranda Roen, creating boooo-tiful beats for selfies at Days of the Dead conventions, or just making up my face for Instagram attention-whore antics, 2018 is the year that we reclaim the sparkle!  I’ll also be looking to YOU, our faithful Makeup Forum readers, to share your favorite glitter products and application tips throughout the year!  We might even feature some of our fantastic readers in new and interesting ways, so be on the lookout for that!

I don’t know if we can shift the whole makeup world, but we can do what we can to help make 2018 the best, brightest year for sparkly beats and spread the glitter and glam gospel to everyone who will listen!

Who’s with me?!

Now Go Forth & Get Painted!
