Days of the Dead, Charlotte 2018: Table Photos – Dream Warriors & Friday the 13th

In addition to the pro photo ops, one of Miss Jaye’s favorite things about Days of the Dead is the chance to go from table to table and meet some of the great people who contribute to the art that she loves.  Days of the Dead featured two big cast reunions: Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives!  Here are the signed table photos Miss Jaye picked up from the cast members from these two fantastic movies, as well as her comments:

Heather Langenkamp was a lot of fun, and was inducted into the Days of the Dead Hall Of Fame during the Charlotte show.  She offered to sign my cast photo, so I’ve included it in the gallery as well as two photos from her table:

This is my favorite promo pic from NOES, and I’m planning to recreate it in a gender bent version in an upcoming photo shoot!  Stay tuned!

In addition to the more traditional photos, I also really enjoy some of the artwork “photos” that the stars have available.  I loved this dark and dreamy piece, so I added it to my collection.

Jennifer Rubin

Jennifer Rubin

Jennifer Rubin’s character, Taryn, was probably my favorite from this movie.  I hadn’t really been exposed to anything punk up to that point, so that look was sexy and edgy and it really made me question my Barbie-inspired ideas about what is beautiful and sexy.  I know that there’s a little bit of Taryn in how I crafted my drag persona!

Ira Heiden

Ira Heiden

I also really liked Will, played by Ira Heiden, because as a kid I was super into the Dungeons & Dragons cartoon that was on Saturday mornings – and because Ira was also in the movie Elvira: Mistress of the Dark which I was absolutely obsessed with!

Rodney Eastman

Rodney Eastman

Why are all of the men from this movie so damn attractive?!  I had such a crush on Joey when I watched this movie, and Rodney Eastman is just as gorgeous today!

Bradley Gregg

Bradley Gregg

Another gorgeous dude!  I remember when I saw the movie thinking that this was the most twisted, creepy death scene I had ever seen, and it’s still one of the most creative in the series.  It’s scary and effective without going too far over the top.  It’s even scarier because everyone has to watch it happen without being able to help.

Penelope Sudrow

Penelope Sudrow

Penelope Sudrow’s death scene was another one that really blew my mind – and of course it’s got that famous line that everyone quotes: “Welcome to Prime Time, bitch!”

Ken Sagoes

Ken Sagoes

Ken Sagoes’ character, Kincaid, wasn’t very likeable – but he’s so sweet and funny in person!  He was one of the two “dream warriors” that lived to see the sequel!

Now on to the Friday the 13th images!

CJ Graham

CJ Graham

Of course you have to start with the man himself: CJ Graham as Jason!  He is so wonderful in person, and I loved his take on the Jason character.  I’m actually hoping to get him as a guest on Janessa After Dark – crossing fingers!

Thom Matthews

Thom Matthews

Thom Mathews as Tommy Jarvis – I was tickled to see that in addition to photos from his films, he also had this picture of his character from the Friday the 13th game – he and I chatted about the game and how terrible I am at playing as him!

Darcy DeMoss

Darcy DeMoss

Darcy was so sweet!  Her death scene is pretty campy, with her face being imprinted in the metal of the camper, but she mentioned on the panel that she apparently has the longest fight scene with Jason of any of the “victims” in the films.  Usually people just get offed pretty quickly or are running, but Nikki actually put up a fight before meeting her end.  You go girl!

Tom Fridley

Tom Fridley

All of these gorgeous men!  Tom Fridley was another one that I was totally hot for when I watched the movie as a teenager!  He’s still gorgeous, and was very sweet: he referred to me as “a power to be reckoned with” – which I think is just his sweet way of saying I’m big and loud!

Kerry Noonan

Kerry Noonan

Kerry and I bonded over rhinestones!  Her daughter does competitive dancing and she was talking about all of the stones that are in her daughter’s costumes, and my bedazzled dress reminded her of them.  I loved that she was there, because one of the things that fascinates me about Part 6 is that it’s pretty much the only F13 movies (and one of the few slashers, more generally) where the killer poses a real threat to actual children – usually it’s just teens and adults who get targeted.  And Kerry’s character, Paula, is the one who is watching over those children during most of the movie.

Steve Dash (Friday the 13th Part 2)

Steve Dash (Friday the 13th Part 2)

Steve Dash is such a great guy, and I love that he playfully pokes at the other actors who have played the role by referring to himself as “The Real Jason.”  This artwork isn’t directly from the movie, but I loved it, so I decided to go with this one instead of a more traditional movie still or set photo.

Derek Mears (Friday the 13th, 2009 Remake)

Derek Mears (Friday the 13th, 2009 Remake)

Finally we have Derek Mears from the 2009 remake.  Fans are sometimes divided on how they feel about the remake; I love it because I think Mears gives the role more emotional nuance than you get in other interpretations of the character – as much emotion as you can get from a character who never speaks and kills almost everyone he encounters!  He actually talked a little bit about his motivation for the character on his panel in Charlotte, and I’m hoping to get him on an episode of Janessa After Dark to explore it more!  In addition to being a very talented actor, he’s also a really great guy and super funny, and I’m so humbled to be able to call him a friend!

Here is a gallery of all photos, unedited and uncropped:
