Days of the Dead, Charlotte 2018: Table Photos – Scream Queens & Kings

Published on June 4, 2018 by   ·   No Comments

Miss Jaye picked up so many table photos from Days of the Dead Charlotte, that we decided to split them into two groups!  Here are some of the other great Scream Queens – and Kings! – that Miss Jaye had the pleasure of meeting on her trip to Charlotte, along with some of her own thoughts and comments.  An unedited, full size gallery is available at the bottom of the page.

Elvira

I was OBSESSED with the first Elvira movie when I was a kid – I watched it every Halloween, and any other time they would show it on TV, and I think I wore out a VHS copy of it.  She was so glamorous and dark and creepy.  I had her comic books, and I remember I would buy them from this kind of angry guy who had a “coin, stamp, and gem” business that also sold comics.  He was always super grumpy with everyone, but for some reason he was always nice to me.

Elvira absolutely influenced my drag persona, and as I’ve grown and evolved she continues to inspire me.  She’s the reason I wanted to get into late night movie hosting – I love the idea of bringing these great cheesy movie finds to a larger audience!

Tony Todd

This movie legit scared the shit out of me!  I could never watch it and then immediately go stand in front of a mirror and do the whole “Candyman” thing five times – impossible!  He’s so sweet in person, and was very excited that I was wearing a bee-themed dress for our pro photo!  Hoping to see him at another con sometime!

My pro photo with Dee Snider came with an autograph, so here is the signed photo!  He thought it would be fun to do a prom style photo, and I think he’s right – we’re the best prom couple ever!  And don’t worry Dee – I definitely put out on a first date! lol

Sid Haig

Sid Haig

How is this my fourth Days of the Dead event and I’m just now getting around to getting a Sid Haig autograph?!  He is so wonderful – always the first to arrive and last to leave, and he always wants to talk with the fans and really have a nice connection.

Now I can’t explain it, but something about him always intimidated me, so I never went over to his table.  I kept hearing stories about how amazing he is, and so I decided that Charlotte was finally the time, and I’m glad I did.  He was wonderful!

Miss Jaye and Ted Raimi

I stopped by Ted Raimi’s table to pick up a table photo and he wanted to see the pic of us together, and he just grabbed a marker and signed it!  He was so funny, and he’s just gorgeous!  We talked about the fact that I felt it was inappropriate that there are NO Xena Funko Pops!  I would have loved to add a signed Joxer to my collection!

We also talked about why I love Japanese ghost stories: if you’re haunted in Japan, you’re just fucked!  There’s no Hollywood ending, there’s no righting the wrong – you’re pretty much just going to die no matter what! I remember seeing this movie with Chris Harder (my very first guest on Janessa After Dark – shameless self-promotion!) and it freaking me the hell out!

Michael Capon

This damn Power Ranger tried it!  I was never that into the Power Rangers, and I was too old for most versions of the show, but he was a cute guy so I decided to pic up one of his pictures.  But then his table friend/manager person asked me if I wanted a cell phone photo, and wanted to charge me $20!  I felt awkward, so I was going to do it, but luckily I had my phone stashed in my titties; I dig around in my bag and then told them I didn’t have my phone and I’d have to just get the table photo!  Steve Cardenas tried the same thing in Indianapolis, but he wanted $30 for a selfie.  Read the room, Rangers – not your crowd!

This one is sort of an oddball – I didn’t actually get to meet her, but there were signed photos at a booth that was selling indie movies; I bought two (including the one shown here, Jaded Velvet) to watch and potentially show at a late night movie event, so I got a photo for free!

Here are the full size copies of all of the pics in this gallery:
